Drupal core update

Take a fresh Backup.

Put the site in maintenance mode.

Extract to another dir the new Drupal.???.zip

Copy all the staff except the 4 below dirs to the root dir of the new installation

 

  • modules
  • profiles
  • sites
  • themes

Revoke the maintenance mode.

Run the /mysite/update.php

From reports run the

  1. status report
  2. available updates

Update the site, if it is needed

Take a fresh backup
