According to multiple statistics, CodeIgniter is the second most popular PHP framework after Laravel. CodeIgniter has 18.2k stars on GitHub. Although some professionals may be less likely to choose CodeIgniter as their tool, many large, well-known businesses rely on it.

With Laravel you can make small apps, with Codeigniter and small and big apps.
